Amy Savarese, DPT, MOT, OTR/L
Originally from the beaches of NC, Dr. Savarese grew up as a military brat and was provided the opportunity to travel the world. She attended Appalachian State University where she was a cheerleader on the co-ed cheerleading squad. After four cold years in Boone, Dr. Savarese earned a BS degree in Exercise Science. She chose to pursue degrees in both physical therapy and occupational therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, due to its reputation in orthopedics and manual therapy training. There, she graduated with high honors in both programs and earned her Master of Occupational Therapy and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees.
Dr. Savarese has been mentored by some of the top manual physical therapists in her profession and has extensive experience in treating a variety of clients with orthopedic and neurological conditions. Her philosophy is to treat the cause of the symptoms and educate her clients in how to take control of their condition. Dr. Savarese continues to advance her skills through attending continuing education courses and is currently pursuing her manual therapy certification. She enjoys treating any musculoskeletal impairment and specializes in treating TMD (jaw or facial pain, clenching and grinding teeth), cervical spine and upper extremity dysfunctions. Dr. Savarese is also LSVT BIG certified and serves to empower and provide hope to those with Parkinson’s disease.
When Dr. Savarese is not in the clinic or attending continuing education courses, she loves spending time with her husband, family and friends as well as wakeboarding, snowboarding, running and competing in triathlons.
